Banneker ranks 46th nationally in Jay Matthew's Top 1,000 high schools

Newsweek has the 2004 list of the top 1,000 high schools as determined by the Washington Post's Jay Mathews' ranking. Schools are ranked according to the ratio of the number of Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate tests taken by all students at a school in 2004 divided by the number of graduating seniors. DC's Banneker was the only District to break into the top 100, coming in at number 46.
