Hudson talks

Daniel Hudson, the former principal of Ballou High School who was not rehired (see below) is talking about his tenure at the troubled school. And what is he saying? Basically that he found there to be a total lack of support from teachers, staff and the administration. He sites, for example, that superintendent Janey never met with him during the entire school year. Also,
Hudson said he faced resistance from school personnel who wanted to continue performing practices that violated policy, such as lax accounting of sick days and leave time or using money generated by fund-raising events for personal expenses. Some teachers also made deals with student athletes that allowed them to continue playing interscholastic sports despite their failing grades, he said.
DCPS has refused to comment about the reasoning behind Hudson's departure. Read the whole thing.
