Cardozo Senior High School will host a dedication ceremony to unveil a new public sculpture in its Peace Garden. The installation is part of the internationally renowned "The Tile Project, Destination: The World." Like 14 of the other existing installations around the world, the one in the Peace Garden will include more than 100 tiles made and donated by international artists.
Sponsored by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and other corporate, academic and private entities, the Tile Project was created in 2003 by the TransCultural Exchange, a non-profit organization based in Boston, whose mission is to foster greater understanding of world cultures through art. The Tile Project organizers are reaching out to the public and encouraging local artists to design unique public installations to incorporate the tiles.
