Confusion over new committee

Is there a communication problem brewing between the DC Council and DCPS? It certainly appears that way. During their last legislative session before the summer recess the DC Council created a new committee, the Special Committee on Vocational Education and Jobs for District Residents, to examine the District's vocational education programs. The committee will be headed by Ward 8 council member Barry and includes Kathy Patterson, D-Ward 3; Vincent Orange, D-Ward 5; Vincent Gray, D-Ward 7; and Kwame Brown, D-At Large. The problem seems to be that Superintendent Janey, who has his own agenda for the city's vocational education program, wasn't consulted on the committee's formation and only found out about it after the Council's vote.
