Dunbar marching band wants to go to the Gator Bowl

Dunbar's marching band has been invited to take part in next year's Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla.
This is the first time a marching band from a D.C. public school has been invited to participate in the Gator Bowl. The band needs about $50,000 to go.

D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams says in order for these "dedicated young musicians to be Good Will Ambassadors for the District of Columbia, financial assistance is critical."

The mayor says the students have overcome numerous challenges and the financial support for the music program will help them build on their success.
If you wish to donate please contact the Dunbar school directly.
