Body found near Benning Elementary

A mother and her child stumbled upon a grizzly grisly discover this morning near Benning Elementary School: a dead body.
he two reportedly found the body of a young man in his 20s, in a wooded area along a fence separating federal land and a field behind Benning Elementary School around 8:30 a.m.

The man had been shot once in the head, and did not have identification.

Classes continued uninterrupted at the school, which authorities say was not locked down. But staff did work to keep the kids away from the scene so police could investigate.

Residents say the area is a tough neighborhood.

I know it's hard to keep a blog going every day so I'm just trying to help: it's "grisly", not "grizzly."
