Gwendolyn Hemphill gets 11 years

Former WTU office manager Gwendolyn Hemphill was sentenced today for her roll in the union's embezzlement scandal: 11 years.
Judge Leon told Hemphill that her criminal conduct was "reprehensible." But he stopped short of giving her the 20-year prison sentence sought by prosecutors.

He said 20 years "is so much greater than necessary."

Hemphill's attorney Nancy Luque said she plans to appeal the sentence.
