Did 1/3 of Wilson graduates not deserve to graduate?

That's the charge being laid by Woodrow Wilson High School teacher Erich Martel.
Martel claims nearly a third of the school's most recent graduating class did not meet the necessary requirements for their diplomas.

"Grades are the currency of education. If you counterfeit grades, then you debase the entire system. Where is the standard?" he said.

Martel made some very public allegations about the situation earlier this year, and he said when he returned to teach this fall he'd been stripped of key assignments -- a move he believes is in direct response to his vocal criticism.
