DCPS loses a dozen teachers to visa issues
Due to boneheadedness on DCPS's part the school system has lost twelve Spanish immersion teachers.
D.C. schools have lost a dozen Spanish immersion teachers after the school system allowed a contract with a company that processes their visas to expire. The contract the school system has with the New York-based International Institute of Education expired July 31 and school officials found out too late to renew it.
Some teachers resigned, and others haven't yet received the clearances to fly into the United States.
