Ballou marching band gets a lot of love

Some good (ne, great) news concerning Ballou high school. The Ballou marching band and the film Michael Patrei directed about them (previously covered here) have been getting a lot of national attention as of late. First there was this report by ABC's Good Morning America.

Then, on today's Ellen DeGeneres Show band director Darrell Watson was the guest. I didn't get to see the show, but the rumors were that the Ballou students should be ready for a big surprise. If you did happen to watch the show please let us know what happened in the comments section.

Ellen made some calls to PayPal and they donated $25,000 to Ballou Marching Band and an additional $75,000 to the School, plus every kid gets a backpack loaded with School Supplies! I love it! IN addition, you can go to her website where they are featured and there is a link directed to the marching band website so visitors can donate money. I'm sure that should help a lot! Go Ballou Marching Band!

What a great story! This is the kind of generosity and appreciation America and the world need.

I just found this blog, but will definitely be visiting it more often. I will also be contacting a friend who runs elefoo and will be hosting an educational blog of his own there (http://www.elefoo.com/fooblog). I'm sure he'll be very interested in frequenting the DC Education Blog.
