The city's new school construction chief, Allen Lew, says the project at Hardy Middle School in Georgetown was up to a year behind schedule and $12 million over budget because of poor coordination between the contractors, Arrow Construction and W.M. Schlosser.
Lew's office has released a report showing that 12 of 18 construction projects slated for this year and next are behind schedule. He says other underperforming contractors on school projects could face the same fate.
