The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington has partnered with the D.C. public schools to provide free vision and hearing exams for D.C. children from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shaw Junior High School, 925 Rhode Island Ave. NW.
Audiologists will conduct hearing screenings, and the society's children's vision screening team will conduct visual acuity and strabismus screenings. Free eyeglasses will be distributed to children who need them. The clinic will fulfill the system's "back-to-school" health evaluation requirement.
Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. Parental consent is required.
To schedule an appointment, call 202-234-1010.
