WAMU has a piece on the results of the 2008 CAS exams.
The achievement gap between black and white students in DC public schools is getting smaller. Mayor Adrian Fenty and the Chancellor of the city public school system highlighted that and other signs of progress at a hearing on Capitol Hill. Chancellor Michelle Rhee says the public school system has long been driven more by politics than by the needs of children. Under her leadership, the system has introduced higher standards of accountability for teachers. As a result she says ninety-nine city schools have raised student math and reading scores.
Speaking of CAS results, DCPS has finally posted the 2008 scores over at their NCLB site. I'll update the data/charts I worked on last year.
