The suit, filed Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court, says many of the teachers were performing well by District standards and were dismissed without warning or specific reasons.
George Parker, the union president, said in a statement that the city violated the terms of the collective bargaining agreement by denying the teachers due process to appeal the terminations.
Schools Chancellor Michelle A. Rhee's office did not respond to a request for comment.

WTU suing over firings
Looks like conditions between the WTU and DCPS are continuing to deteriorate. The WTU has decided to sue the school district over the firing of 70+ teachers who were on probationary status.
